Say Anything: Sheehan: Clinton Killed More Iraqis Than Bush

  • Dave · 3 years ago
If Bill "I Feel Your Pain" Clinton doesn't pass muster with her, would anyone?
Seeing as he was one of the most conservative Democratic politicians of all time, I imagine she'd be satisfied with a more liberal Democrat, probably in the Sharpton/Kucinich/Sanders mold.

I think that Cindy's feelings, like most of her far-left brethern, are predicated more on hating George Bush than any real sense of defending freedom and democracy.

I don't know. She thinks Bush is a "monster", she thinks Clinton is a "monster". Beyond that, she implies that the U.S. has had a "monster" in power for a long time ("...but it's been held by a long line of monsters").

Could it be that, unlike most Bush-haters, she is really an anarchist at heart? If Bill "I Feel Your Pain" Clinton doesn't pass muster with her, would anyone?

In other words, a Hugo Chavez-type, without the accent and with more "nuance". Not going to happen in this country. Thankfully. Clinton was her best shot.

I'm fair-minded and non-partisan enough to say she's completely wrong about Bush and Clinton.

And gullible enough to believe anything the Iraqi ministries under Hussein said about sanctions damage.

(And, well, if she opposes sanctions, I guess that means she either favours war, or simply letting dictators do whatever the hell they want?)

Not going to happen in this country.
    Precisely.

Dave: Calling Clinton "conservative" in any way just shows how ignorant you are about what conservatism really is.
  • mcair · 3 years ago
They'll run every nasty thing Cindy has to say about Bush, but Clinton is off-limits to our liberal media.

Good God, were you asleep during the late '90's? Do you remember the "liberal media" reporting the Clinton Blowjob story on page A23, and cable TV not running it 24/7?

Me either. Get a freakin' grip.
  • The Whistler · 3 years ago
Actually, Newsweek had the story wrapped up. They decided to cover it up, not run it.

Someone at Newsweek leaked it to Matt Drudge and the rest is HISTORY!

They also never reported on the Whitewater Scandel.

They never reported on the Clinton fundraising scandals, especially Chinese Money going into his campaign coffers.

They never covered Al Gore raising money from Chinese Nuns IN A CHURCH. (Illegal).

I'm sure I'm missing many many items....

TW: Good call. The Lewinsky lie was the MSM helping Clinton cover up the real scandals, like the illegal campaign contributions, and trying to convince the American public it was all about blowjobs. That mythology continues to this day with the lefties. Clinton was impeached because he was a criminal, not because he sexually harrassed an intern.

mcair: Your ignorance and delusion is truly breathtaking. Ever hear of Charlie Tree?

Man, that post truly takes the cake.

Robert, is it the acid gettin' to ya? The Peyote?

    Get some help, dude.

In the 1992 Democratic Primary, which Democratic candidates were more conservative than Clinton?
  • robert108 · 3 years ago
Dave: Clinton masquerades as conservative to get elected. He is a liar and a cheat, and is not to be believed.

Are you calling anyone to the left of Clinton a Communist?
  • Dave · 3 years ago
I'm not so sure, robert. A lot of Clinton's major victories were on center-right legislation, particularly economic--like Welfare reform, NAFTA, Telecom reform--as well as several domestic issues, like DOMA, AEDPA, the Communications Decency Act. He did have some solidly left-wing causes (failed healthcare reform, first-term tax increases, Brady Bill, etc.), but he was hardly a liberal Democrat. He's to Democrats what John McCain is to Republicans.
  • robert108 · 3 years ago
Dave: I don't agree with you on your comparison. Most of the so-called centrist legislation was forced on him by the new Republican congress. Before then, he attempted to hijack every business in the US with his(and Hillary's) healthcare program. Hardly centrist. Welfare reform was originally proposed by the Republicans, but the MSM gave Clinton the credit because he signed the bill.
  • likwidshoe · 3 years ago
Dave says, A lot of Clinton's major victories were on center-right legislation, particularly economic--like Welfare reform...

You're referring to the Republican welfare reform bill that Clinton vetoed twice, once in December 1995 and again in January 1996, before passing it in August of '96. Clinton only signed on when Dick Morris convinced him that he needed it to win reelection. Hardly one of "Clinton's major victories" in any sense of the phrase.

robert108 was right. Clinton is a snake who holds little in the way of core beliefs. Polls guided many of his actions while in office.

Uh, no. Not even close. Re-read the first three comments and try again.

    Here, I'll help you out:

Me: If Bill "I Feel Your Pain" Clinton doesn't pass muster with her, would anyone?

Dave: I imagine she'd be satisfied with a more liberal Democrat, probably in the Sharpton/Kucinich/Sanders mold.

Me: In other words, a Hugo Chavez-type, without the accent and with more "nuance".

Read "without the accent" as "not South American" and "with more 'nuance'" as "not likely to brutally repress or kill them if they say something he doesn't like".

If you equate the above exchange as me saying "anyone to the left of Clinton is a Communist", well... what can I say? Try harder?

Yep. That pretty much sums Bill up.

Clinton always did great at fighting back when being attacked, but was lost as a goose the rest of the time.

    Welcome back by the way.
