Say Anything: Predictable Liberals

  • GraemeA · 3 years ago
It is a stupid ad. Calling people that disagree with you unpatriotic is childish and doesn't work. Lindsey Graham is right, it should be pulled.
  • GraemeA · 3 years ago
Rob, that is what it is clearly implying. That is what I got out of it anyway. Waving a white flag in front of people, implying we should not criticize because the troops and enemies are watching. That sounds like questioning someones patriotism to me.
  • Rob · 3 years ago
I just watched the ad again, Graeme. Nowhere in it did I see anyone called unpatriotic.

Are you lying or just ill informed?

Have you even seen the ad?
  • GraemeA · 3 years ago
I wish it was simply good vs. bad like you seem to believe 2hotel9. I think the situation is a little bit more complex then that. Trying to understand the "Wahabist death-worshipers" is far from excusing their actions.

We differ in our approach to fighting the extremists. You saying that your political opponents are supporting terrorists is counterproductive and I really don't believe you think it is true.

I would argue your party has been creating more terrorists then killing them.
  • Rob · 3 years ago
Dissent and criticsm are one thing, Graeme, but telling the country that we cannot win a war while the troops are over in Iraq with their necks on the line is quite another. If you don't like being called defeatists, stop acting like that.

We differ in our approach to fighting the extremists.

I'd sure be interested to know what your method is.
  • robert108 · 3 years ago
Graeme: "Clearly implying?" Implication is in the mind of the beholder, I believe. They are clearly saying, not implying, that the Dems are defeatists, by their own words. What that implies is up to you. They are saying what they are saying.
  • robert108 · 3 years ago
Howard Dean and "Hawk" Murtha do have a plan for victory: Immediate redeployment to Okinawa, for one. That'll work.
  • 2Hotel9 · 3 years ago
Your political party is undermining the war on terror. We, America, are locked in a fight to the death with an enemy that happily kills it's own women and children. Your political party has and continues to take a public stance in support of our enemies. That is unpatriotic. Period. Full stop. Don't like that, take it up with YOUR political party. Not us. We support destroying Wahabist death-worshippers. You support Wahabist death-worshippers. See the difference there? Live on your knees as a slave. Die on your feet as a man. CHOOSE!!!

Graeme, you're being far too subtle for this bunch. They don't let the truth get in the way of their partisan agenda. What you're trying to do is noble, but some folks are just beyond help.
  • 2Hotel9 · 3 years ago
We don't need your kind of help. Terrorists do, and you are more than happy to give it to them. You, MI, have chosen. Lay down with dogs, get up with fleas. If you are very lucky, your new masters will shoot you, not starve you to death. Goodbye.

    Graeme:
"I would argue your party has been creating more terrorists then killing them."

Really? First of all, this is your opinion, based on no factual evidence whatsoever.

Second of all, I've had countless anti-war zealots make the statement that killing them isn't helping. I always ask what the alternative is to killing the terrorists, and I've yet to see a coherent answer. As a matter of fact, what I've seen, over and over, is, "Well, I don't know, but killing them is only breeding more of them."

May I respectfully suggest that, until you anti-war (read: anti-BUSH) zealots come up with an alternative, you ought to shut up??!!!

There is nothing like your own words to tell who you are. Howie,Nancie, and Johhnie, all just saying what they believe. If that is really what America thinks, stand up be proud. Don't run away from your words, embrace them.
They said it, if they mean it,don't run, don't hide. Have the courage of your convictions. Get out now, say the leaders of the Demmies, embrace your leadership. Go,go demmies

[...] As Democrats continue to bristle at being called a bunch of defeatists Rep. John Murtha gives us all another reason to tag them with that title: “There’s no way you can win a war when not only have you lost the hearts and minds of people, when you have become their enemy,” Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., said during a press conference at the Ritz Carlton in Philadelphia. [...]

GraemeA said, It is a stupid ad. Calling people that disagree with you unpatriotic is childish and doesn't work. Lindsey Graham is right, it should be pulled.

Awww...some doesn't like the implied truth.

I see that even the ever patient Rob is getting tired of your bellyaching kind. You're losing friends.

I wish it was simply good vs. bad like you seem to believe 2hotel9. I think the situation is a little bit more complex then that.

You always say this and this is also getting tiresome. We point out the good vs. bad evil to you so much because you miss it! And nobody is saying that it is "simply good vs. bad". That was a construction of your own making.

Trying to understand the "Wahabist death-worshipers" is far from excusing their actions.

So, how is that "understanding" going? Getting far with that?

You saying that your political opponents are supporting terrorists is counterproductive and I really don't believe you think it is true.

You're supporting terrorists and making excuses for them left and right. That plain enough for you?

I would argue your party has been creating more terrorists then killing them.

Another claim. Feel free to start proving any of them any time now.

modern instances said, Graeme, you're being far too subtle for this bunch. They don't let the truth get in the way of their partisan agenda. What you're trying to do is noble, but some folks are just beyond help.

Man,..you appear so bitter anymore. Maybe you should question why you hang around so often with a bunch of people who you believe are "just beyond help". What does that say about you?
  • Carrick · 3 years ago
    MI:
They don't let the truth get in the way of their partisan agenda.
This is back to that "which way does a finger point" meme. I think you are inadvertently referring to yourself.

If Dean, Murtha and the other nay-sayers of the DNC don't want their own words used against them... they can be a bit more careful of what they say in front of a camera. I figure in any case, Dean slipped up and said in public what he says in private. The only people who don't want that truth to get in their way are apologists like yourself and Graeme. Unfortunately for you, just as you get done with the damage control on Dean, Murtha goes out and speaks his mind again.

At least with Murtha, you really know where he stands. The blithering idiot really thinks we're losing and can't win. .

IMO, you can have three positions in wartime. You can be for one side, you can be for the other side, or you can be neutral, like Switzerland in WWII. The Dems aren't neutral, by any means, and they are against the policy of the majority-elected govt in the US. Which leaves the obvious conclusion as to what side they represent.

For all your bluster and complaint about likwid you sure don't bring a whole lot to the debate these days.

Until there's an actual debate to join, I'm just killing time.
  • Rob · 3 years ago
Seems to me that there is plenty of debate here, much it pretty well reasoned. About as well reasoned as you can expect in any internet forum.

I guess we dumb right wingers just aren't worth your time any more.
  • Seth Williams · 3 years ago
OK MI, I'll bite, what do the Democrats want us to do in Iraq?
  • modern instances · 3 years ago
The proposition "democrats want the US to fail in Iraq" is too ludicrous to be worthy of debate. Unfortunately, that's the most common thread these days.
  • robert108 · 3 years ago
The Dem plan for Iraq: Cut and Run.
  • Rob · 3 years ago
More than a day later, still no response.

Guess that answers your question Seth.

Or, I'll provide an answer of my own: Democrats don't really have a plan for Iraq. They just want the Bush administration to look bad to they can get their candidate elected. MI may think this "too ludicrous to be worthy of debate," but then he thinks the GOP is run by Jerry Falwell and that Fred Phelps is a Republican, so his idea of what is and is not reality is sort of up for debate.
