Say Anything: Fox News' Bob Beckel: I Used To Smoke A Lot Of Weed

• Jay · 1 year ago
Let's face it: Marijuana is not inherently a bad thing. It's no more or less harmful to humans and human behavior than alcohol, and we'd do well to just legalize it and spend the massive amount of resources expended on its banishment elsewhere.
If North Dakota could eliminate the use of the judicial system to deal with pot and bad checks, my calendar would free up REAL quick.

Why did he stop? I guess even a raging leftie needs to be able to think clearly.

Beckel's use of pot doesn't , in itself, bother me.
He's also been treated for alcohol abuse.
What DOES bother me is that he presents himself as a person whose judgement is supposed to mean something.
I feel that his past judgement lapses should exclude him from the position he has.
• robert108 · 1 year ago
He apparently had the good judgment to stop using it.
• RebTex · 1 year ago
Good judgement doesn't lead one into illegal activities.
Nor is stopping illegal activities called "good judgement".
It's called realization.

You finally found someone in the Democratic Party who is as creepy as the high-rollers in the Republican Party. Hope you didn't bust a gut.

You mean like the "chubby chaser" in the White House? Or the Serpent Head that put him there?
• RebTex · 1 year ago
Finally?
How about Kennedy?
He killed a chick....
THen, there's that guy in Louisiana that thought keeping his bribe money in the freezer was a good idea....
No, wait! I can go on for DAYS!

Better than continuing to make the same mistake.

"Better than continuing to make the same mistake"
.
.
.THe whole jist of my original comment wasn't that he had made mistakes, it's that he's held in esteem for his judgements.

Who holds Beckel in esteem for anything? That's one I've never heard before.
In fact, his giving up drug use is the smartest thing I have ever heard about him.
• RebTex · 1 year ago
Oh!
I'm sorry.
I didn't realize that you weren't familuar with his position as a leftist commentator at Fox News.

You are in error; I know that quite well, in addition to his regular appearances on Crossfire. It is because of my familiarity with him that I lack any respect or esteem for him. It's based on knowledge and facts, not ignorance.

Bob, while you've missed the point on nearly every post thus far I must applaud your libertarian views on the subject of marijuana use. Bravo.

Yea no crap, 99% of regular people used to smoke it. FFS Bush snorted coke.
