Fire doesn't melt steel. Does it?

Yes it does, it has to get awful to do it though. They use fire to get iron hot and pound out the impurities in order to make steel and give it it's shape.

I think Whistler was taking a jab at the truthers who think that the burning fuel in the World Trade Center wasn't enough to cause the towers to crumble.

Captain Ed over at Captain's Quarters had this on the documentary:
The silliest and yet most revealing moment? That came near the end, when talk-radio host Alex Jones discussed his place in history (note: site may not be safe for your intellect). He told the History Channel that Galileo got persecuted when he told people that the Earth was round instead of flat. "I'm telling people the world is round!" he exclaimed.

Unfortunately, Galileo got persecuted for claiming that the Earth moved around the sun, not that the Earth was round. Learned people had accepted that the round Earth since the Greeks, and they had actually calculated the circumference with surprising accuracy. Ptolemy even came up with the system of longitude and latitude before Christ was born. However hilarious Jones' assertion may be, it's a great example of their scholarship.
Isn't Ron Paul a frequent guest on Alex Jones' radio show?

Ron Paul is worse than a doofus!...

I saw the show and was astounded that liberal TV even let it air.....to say that it ponded to truthers into mush is an understatement.

The well reasoned and researched views of the interviewed participants made the truthers look exactly like what they are....babbling, histrionic attention queens.

There's only one important question concerning the attacks, did the US gov't allow/participate in 9/11?

The answer to that query would explain the illegal wire-taps, suspension of habeas corpus, banning of books like "America Deceived" from Amazon, detaining of dissenters in fences miles away from events, and multiple wars based on lies.

How can the gov't be innocent in 9/11 when we have caught it lying so many times (WACO, Ruby Ridge, no WMDs, USS Liberty, Operation Northwoods, Gulf of Tonkin, Pearl Harbor, ETC.)?

In law, if you determine a person lies ONCE during his testimony, it can be assumed that he lied in the remainder of his testimony. How come we do not hold the gov't to the same standard as it holds us to?

The gov't lied to us about Iraq and more Americans have died there than in 9/11. If the gov't lied about Iraq then why is everyone so reluctant to believe that the gov't lied about 9/11?

Final link (before Google Books bends to pressure and drops the title):
How can the gov't be innocent in 9/11 when we have caught it lying so many times
Two words: Know thyself! Because you don't know jack!
How can the government be innocent in 9/11 if it lied about the cause of the Spanish American War? Remember the Maine! Does that really track with you?
Pearl Harbor???? You want to hold the Bush administration responsible for what Roosevelt did? What are YOU smoking?
There's only one important question concerning the attacks
How come so many people are off their meds? Are there mental health professionals we can refer these people to? (Sorry! That's two questions!)

The Lusitania was a legitimate military target.

Plus Lincoln provoked the South to attack Fort Sumter.

And we were never told the story behind the start of the War of 1812.

The French and Indian war was untrue too.
There's only one important question concerning the attacks, did the US gov't allow/participate in 9/11?
Yes, the Clinton administration did set up the environment which made it possible for 9/11. Nice of you to notice that.

How dare you bring up the USS LIBERTY! Israel is our friends, it was an accident, all die for Israel.

Next thing you'll bring up is the Protocols Of The Learned Elders Of Zion, or maybe even the Ten Planks Of The Communist Manifesto and try to connect it to America.

Forget about Pearl Harbor and The McCollum Memo, it's all lies. And remember folks "Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories concerning the attacks of September 11, malicious lies that attempt to shift the blame away from the terrorists themselves, away from the guilty."

Jack - In law, if you determine a person lies ONCE during his testimony, it can be assumed that he lied in the remainder of his testimony.

Thanks for that. Based on your lies, it can be assumed that the rest of what you say are lies. Your own words at work here.

WETBACK - I am an American Israeli agent who works under the Secret Turncoat Under the Political Israeli Department or STUPID for short. You will be reported to STUPID and they will decide if you meet the requirements of STUPID to be sent to the Bluecoat Israelis Torturing Children and Humanity, or BITCH for short.

I apologize for all of this. It's just that you have shown that you know a bit about our Assymetrical Secret Society (ASS for short) and will be treated accordingly. No offense or anything.

    Boogey-boogey boo!

I thought you ment the Terrene Sleuth's Unilateral Israeli Protection Department?

I like the Big Internment Torture Chamber Hooey, but that is one of my groups.

I have been reading the conspiracy websites since the excellent History Channel documentary aired. It is hysterical. Now they are saying that the History Channel is in bed with the government who controls all the media outlets, blah, blah, blah.

Did anyone else notice the credentials of the conspiracy theorists? A former religion professor, a radio talk show host, three 20-something college students, a nurse, a truck mechanic and several with no credentials listed.

Then look at the debunkers: Three of the top structural engineers in the country, air traffic controllers, a Air National Guard pilot, a demolition expert, FAA and NTSB crash investigators, witnesses on the ground and in the air that confirm the "official" report on what happened.

I could go on, but I think the point is made.

The assertion that the calls made from United 93 were faked was disgusting. I wanted to punch that old fart through the TV set.

Whenever you point to a lack of evidence, they take that as "proof" that the conspiracy is working better than ever!
