The closest thing to a skinhead around here is you Buzz.
A heckler's veto occurs when an acting party's right to freedom of speech is curtailed or restricted in order to prevent a reacting party's behavior. The common example is that of demonstrators (reacting party) causing a speech (given by the acting party) to be terminated in order to preserve the peace.
In the United States, case law regarding the heckler's veto is mixed. Most findings say that the acting party's actions cannot be pre-emptively stopped due to fear of heckling by the reacting party, but in the immediate face of violence, authorities can ask the acting party to cease their action in order to satisfy the hecklers.
The best known case involving the heckler's veto is probably Feiner v. New York, handed down by the Supreme Court in 1951. Chief Justice Fred M. Vinson, writing for the majority, held that police officers acted within their power in arresting a speaker if the arrest was "motivated solely by a proper concern for the preservation of order and protection of the general welfare." 340 U.S. 315.
It was rejected in Hill v. Colorado, 530 U.S. 703, 735 (SCOTUS 2000). where The US Supreme Court rejected the "Heckler's Veto," where "grants of power to private actors" allow "a single, private actor to unilaterally silence a speaker"[1]
Bong Hits For Jesus.
Chief Justice Roberts, writing for the majority, concluded that the school officials did not violate the First Amendment by confiscating the pro-drug banner and suspending the student responsible for it. The opinion first concluded that Frederick's "Bong Hits" banner was displayed during a school-supervised event, making this a "school speech" case rather than a normal case of speech on a public street.

Justice Clarence Thomas wrote a concurrence that argued that students in public schools do not have a right to free speech
STFU Kid
WillHuntForFood: I reckon it would if drawn on a t-shirt with marker pen.
And you're statist to the bone too. I bet you weren't out campaigning against Bush's illegal wars and elevated govt military spending, statist.
Bush's "illegal wars" were supported by UN Resolutions and by numerous democrat "leaders" who found it politically expedient to declare preemptive surrender. What cowards the left are. And ANY military spending is elevated to a leftist, no surprise there. Military spending is Constitutional, whereas most social experiment spending the left practices is not.
Logic Fail, vert. Don't look now, but your lack of world experience is showing, again.
Yes, you are. Pathetic, really.
If I'm any kind if "ist", I'm a Nationalist.
My guess is that you are a Constitutionalist and a Patriot.
Two concepts totally alien to the Leftist mindset.
You be right, Zig. I made an oath to protect and defend the Constitution and I put Country First.
With leftists the state has primacy over the individual and they put themselves first.
Be a real man, pussyboy, and get a job that isn't dependent on government handouts.
But, if an eleven year old kid can put two and two together and the teachers can't, it makes one wonder about the quality of our teacher education system. Evidently, his parents have given him the tools to establish his priorities at an early stage in life.
I think in the current way of things, he did a good thing. Because he is absolutely correct in the statement on the T-shirt in question. There is no getting around that.
Be a real man, pussyboy,
So you think the military is a government handout? Again, to you, work is welfare and a hand out. Orwell would be proud of you Dino. Let me guess, we've always been at war with Eastasia! Oceania forever! I know you think you are making a point but what it is I don't know. I guess that you think soldiers shouldn't be paid for their work. By the way, weren't you talking about having a university job a few threads ago?
Since his sister was NOT sent home for wearing an anti-BHO TS & since there was a PG disruption & a math class disruption over this & in light of the SCOTUS ruling on the (as WOOF referenced) sign OFF SCHOOL PROPERTY (& where "confrontations/disruptions" wasn't even in play) then the school is on firm legal ground.
Sorry MoveZig, but schools have been determined (rightly or wrongly) to be able to restrict speech in certain cases where other governmental entities can't...so IMO the "hecklers" comment is not relevant & as a matter of fact...given SCOTUS (wrongly or rightly) saying that even potential school disruptiveness is grounds to allow schools to curtail curtain speech involving students & since disruptions did occur then the "potential" "threshold" was surpassed.
Side Note: From what I gather this father is known to ensnare his kids into political controversies...wonder if he is "man enough" to do it on his own...wish I knew if the father was willing to make/even made the same TS for himself let alone wear it anywhere...
I do NOT care which side (or the middle) of the political spectrum you are...do your protesting w/o prostituting your kids over political issues (except in rare cases like gathering for the passage of laws like "Megan's Law"/"Amber Alert" system that are directly about kids).
Parents also need to think about the SAFETY of their kids...like that college student that ended up DEAD JUST B/C he was wearing red...this could have had physical consequence for his pre-teen kids.
It's my wish that NO parents would involve their kids in politics (except as noted above) INCLUDING politicians & their kids.
BTW, GWB & wars is way OT.
Since when has that ever stopped you?
And you wouldn't know a fight if is hit your back at 2800 feet per second and exited your chest trailing a pink mist.
Goddamn kids think because they have CNN and youtube and a college education funded by mommy and daddy that they have any experience.
All this goddamn bickering. There is nothing to bicker about- the kid learned the hard way, and his parents made it known. It's all about what's popular now, and touchy feely.
Socialism is "in" right now.
Or Goddamn Michael Jackson. 7 of my comrades die in Afghanistan, one gets captured. But Michael made all the news for weeks. The nation mourned a pedophile.
I entered the Iraq war as an Infantry Scout when I was 19, and did not come home until i was 21. What did you do in that span of time, kid?

You'll find you have a few vets here, a few Conservative lifetime civilians and more than our TO&E of Leftard trolls, but Rob tolerates them and we heap abuse on them or ignore them.
It's prolly a good idea not to feed the Trolls, as their task is to disrupt and lead you around by nose by saying outrageously inflammatory things. Since you can't stab, shoot or punch them, you CAN ignore them with the GREASEMONKEY utility SUITEPOTATO and SUBBOB have coded for us and made available at the bottom of each thread.
